When I speak of the erotic, I’m referencing Audre Lorde’s essay, “Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power,” where she defines the erotic as “a resource within each of us that lies in a deeply female and spiritual plane, firmly rooted in the power of our unexpressed or unrecognized feelings.” We will use the erotic as creative energy and as a source of information to craft poetry and prose that emerges from the richness of your sensual and intuitive bodies, arising from the yeses of being alive, and giving language to the revelatory fullness of your feelings. The workshop will include contemplative exercises in the tradition of Kundalini Yoga, short readings, and generative writing prompts.
